I called and spoke to a very nice young woman named Jessica. She was concerned as we are when I mentioned HGTV and the issue of homosexuality. Still, Jessica said she is unaware of any such content on the HGTV they broadcast - she doesn't watch the show herself.

I just spoke with the wife who watches HGTV; she said she is unaware of any gay personalites on HGTV or any that are obviously or openly gay. Yet some of the client couples on HGTV are same-sex, so that can be an issue for children.

According to Jessica, HGTV was added after numerous customers requested the show. Customers also successfully requested:

Fox News
Hallmark Channel
Hallmark Movie Channel

Regarding the Hallmark Movie Channel, some customers have complained about some western movies using "the 'H' word and the 'D' word," per Jessica. We can make an educated quess at what those words are but for me, I don't consider the words (that I'm thinking about) as something harmful to children. I can imagine it's impossible to please their diverse audience. I wouldn't want Benny Hihn being broadcast but he's part of their line up as well.
