Too much time to spin this one. Weldon should have kept it until 9-8 and not allowed the downplay to come.

That was my initial thought but Weldon knows the players better than we and hopefully he's covered his bases.

Dear we dream FRiends?

I think we've got multiple villains here. It's not just the 9-11 Commission who buried Able Danger. The Pentagon evidently wanted it buried before 9-ll. As far as we know, the Pentagon remained silent when the 9-ll Commission kept it out of their report. And even more telling, the Pentagon has done everything it could during the last few weeks to discredit Weldon and the whistleblowers who've come forward to back him up.

Maybe Weldon is a bulldog. Maybe he does have a special, trusting relationship with Arlen Spector that will guarantee Spector conducting a legitimate investigation.

I can't say I'm optimistic. While Weldon cautions the Pentagon not to release anymore premature statements, he goes on local Pennsylvania radio shows doing just that. Maybe he has to, in order to keep Able Danger interest alive, but it just doesn't feel right to me.
