This order to destroy the records occurred prior to 9-11-01. Weldon intimated that it happened during the Clinton Administration.

I wouldn't be so sure. Bush had the brilliance to hire the likes of Richard Clark who might be smart enough to see to it that records would be destroyed on Bush's watch.

Clark's position was dramaticly reduced under Bush and he nurses a grudge because of it.

I agree, but Weldon, though not tipping his hand too much, did indicate that the destruction was ordered by Clinton people. So in all likelihood the destruction of records occurred during Clinton's presidency. On the other hand, maybe it WAS Clarke.... Clinton holdover.... And we haven't heard a peep from him in awhile, have we? Hmmmm.
