This is Buchanan's attempt at ridiculing the importance of the war in Iraq.
Our troops aren't fighting and dying in Iraq for divorce law reforms. They are defending us against an enemy who attacked us without warning or provocation on our own soil and has vowed to kill every American man woman and child who won't convert to Islam.
It is inexcusable for Buchanan to belittle the sacrifices and accomplishments of our troops.
And if he would come out against Islam and Sharia you would be here denouncing him for "racism."

An enemy who attacked us on our own soil. An enemy who continues to arrive on our soil thanks to open borders. An enemy whose objective of killing every man, woman and child who won't convert is facilitated by open borders.
Our troops are doing their part to defend America from terrorism, while the President is AWOL or worse on the border. "You are with us or you are against us," President Bush has decided he is with M.E.Ch.A and MS13, even Al Qaeda itself when it comes to the border. He has decided against us, even to the point of ignoring the oath he swore upon a bible twice.
