I was on the last flight into BR and it was fine The airport was swamped at 430 with people wanting out on one of the last two flights out.

Am I wrong or does the storm passing east of new orleans mean things won't be so bad, or so horrific for NO.

We have tornado alert and power outages in BR already.

it depends on how far east.

If the storm is something less than about 40 miles to the east, they get the eyewall and consistent winds from the lakeside that will push it over the leevee.

West and you get water from the GOM and the Mississippi.

damned if you do, damned if you don't.
