I laughed this afternoon watching the Mayor sitting in a local NBC affilifate newsroom describing what he was doing. He said, he had talked to the president, to FEMA, the Governor, and listed quite a few others he had talked to on the phone. That's what he's been doing.....talking on the phone.
Oh, and Landrieu went on a long spiel telling Matthews how important Louisiana was in producing energy to the nation, and she sure hoped the Federal Government would provide what was needed. No mention from her of how involved Bush has already been.

Trying to put it out there that anything that happens isn't his fault - he was just following orders from higher ups.
Earlier today Landrieu was blowing this off as "we heard this so many times before" that I think it was a strategy like the time Congress evacuated and cheesy Lott was trying to make like he had balls.
I think they really thought this was much ado about nothing and was trying to spin it as unnecesssary panic put out there by "others" i.e. Republicans.
