I wish I was speculating. Oh how I wish I was speculating.
I'm so confused now, I'm not sure whether to be insulted or not. Is being two Mooses higher than Chief Moose a good thing or a bad thing?

He seemed scared on that last report.
Ivan was a puppy compared to Katrina. Every meterological indicator says so. I don't care what the neysayers here say, this storm is a monster. Even if it divinely misses NO, SOMEBODY is going to get the crap beaten out of them tonight.
No; they'll use Al Bore for a sandbag.
A few years ago I was at a missions conference for college students where they tried to alleviate that. Half the mens rooms at the main hall (Assembly Hall on the U of Illinois campus) were used as ladies rooms during the longer evening sessions. The remaining mens rooms had worse lines than the ladies rooms next to them.
Shepherd Smith really sounds scared now. He seems to have sobered up when they told him the French Quarter may be gone and he is IN the French Quarter.
A big chuck of the Strategic Petroleum Reserve is in salt domes in Louisiana.
There is such a streak of humanitarianism in him that is lacking in many of his colleagues.
Nice time to tell them.
I heard that one of the delays at the hotels was that they were still going through the formalities of checking people out of their rooms.
Stupid. The hotel management should have simply told everyone to get going and deal with figuring out the bills later.
Two hours ago, waves were almost 25 feet. Now only 23 feet.
But 20 foot waves are bad enough... That buoy may be able to report 40 footers (before it might stop reporting).
Of course, that is in the open waters of the Gulf -- not very close to shore.
Talk about stupid timing...
Look at the damage Katrina did in Florida as just a minimal Cat 1. Now the wind speed is more than double than that!!!
Shep sounds pretty upset. Perhaps he is having second thoughts over HIS decision to go down there.
Past adjustment - get titanium.
A nuke would not make a dent; the heat might even feed the beast
Fill up anything you can with drinking water. Cook up a few meals for when the electricity goes or if there's a break in the gas. Eat what you can tonight from the fridge and save your canned goods for later. Keep the freezer closed until needed later. Have an ice cream party tonight! Hope you're stocked with charcoal, fuel, or wood for the bbq if the electricity is off for a period of time.
Also, do a quick search for solar oven plans and print them out just in case. Cardboard and tin foil are all that's needed. They work amazingly well.
The FNC is now resigned to this as being a "colossal tragedy".
I remember Ivan sent a s-load of tornadoes through VA and DC. Was pretty frightening.
