Cat 1 tomorrow morning will be a miracle and a direct answer to prayer. Right now the thing is barreling down on NO at Cat 5, 180+ MPH winds and pressure at 902 mb. Those are facts and no amount of cavalierly writing it off will change that.

I pray the miracle occurs...but if I were in its path I would already be over in Houston or Mobile.

I agree, I'd be gone as well. My point was that thousands of people evacuated the Carolina's several times for not.

The news media has called 'foul' so many times in the past.

This one looks loke a killer, I agree.

The damage of calling 'foul' so many times is that when one like this happends people don't heed the warnings until it is too late.

So do we. But with 90 degree water ahead, it is likely to persist or grow even stronger. And after it does diminish, it will drop its load of water inland along the way north. People all the way up the projected path should be moving out of the valleys.
