Aside from her seditious talk, take into account that she is emotioanlly drained. I have no problem with her opposing the war. Hell we all hate war. But she was fervently opposed before her son got there, and his death was every possible fear that a mother or father could have come true.
And now seeing her mother in hospital from a stroke... well, I think she's just overwhelmed with grief and tired to the bone.
She should be at home by her mother's side. Surely family should come first.
