When we saw The Great Raid a couple of weeks ago the price for a small bag of popcorn was $3.75. The bag size was about 1/3 of the size of a microwave bag of popcorn.

Small fountain drinks were $3.75 as was a 16 oz. bottle of water.

A large order of canned cheese nachos was $9.00.

I saw Wedding Crashers last weekend. $5.75 for 'early ticket', $4.50 for soda and $4.50 for popcorn. I had to lsiten to ten mintues of 'Movie Tunes' (the lamest songs by young artists you'll never hear of again, new songs by old groups you didn't care about the first time, and an over-modualted voice telling you how good the rubbish is). Then fifteen mintues of commercials (why Sony-Ericson cellphones ruin Carpenters songs is beyond me). Five minutes of previews and then the movie. The half way throught the sound is cut off during the reel change and it takes ten mintues to get it back online.

If Jack Valente was around, i would have asked him if he could recommend some good priates so I could actually watch all the movie I paid for.
