C havez has declared himself a blood enemy of the
United States of America. His has attacked the
church in the form of it's represtatives in
Venezuela, and he uses blasphemy to advance
his spread of the soul killing socialism.
Those are all good and valid reasons for Robertson
to advocate his death. The first one, in my mind,
makes it legal in my mind to kill him and all of
his impoted Cuban thugs who have been moved into all positions of power in the Venezuelan government.
I am not one to usually agree with Robertson, but
i think he's on the money with this one. The sooner
that Chavez and the goons who support him are killed,
the better for *all* of the Americas.

Thanks, and again I wait for a link and source to Chavez plotting Hitlerian genocide, as was oft-cited by people in this thread.
Oh, you are so right. After all, the guy did receive the Human Rights Award--
in Libya from Moammar Kadaffi.

Media Matters was the only place that had the video last night and was found via google when first heard this.
Great way for you to stay closed minded. Impeach the source instead of the message.
Now that it's made the MSM you should feel better reading about it from sources that appease you.
Anything I can do to help............

More damage to the cause of Christ.
Pat Robertson is more a politico than a Christian leader of any repute. I find him to be a flake and would not take anything he has to say on the subject of religion seriously. He is slightly more credible when speaking about politics. But only slightly.
That said, the real issue here is Hugo Chavez. Anyone who's been following this individual's career knows that he has been a major danger to us and will only become more dangerous as he courts our enemies and consolidates his power.

Then you've found the answer to the question. Every comment henceforth is just filler.

Hey, I'm not the one who chills at the Venezuelan government's propaganda site and gets confirmation from Soros' butt-boy (literally). Forgive me for being a little suspicious. But what's the big deal? Robertson has been far more baffoonish on far worse things than this. It's one of the more coherent statements he's made in a long time.
It is a standard question in morals and ethics classes as to whether it is moral to have attempted to assassinate Hitler. Apparently this is cut-and-dried for you.

We must eliminate threats to our national security.
and we damn well need to close our borders.

Robertson is an idiot and a lunatic, but where was the media when members of the supposedly mainstream left was demanding the assassination of Bush?
To: Monty Python
Unfortunately, some Christians paint Jesus as a passive, like Mother Teresa. I'm not saying that is wrong, but Jesus was full of rightheous passion and often dealt harshly with those who twisted his Father's words. His mission was not political, but spiritual. With that said, that doesn't mean he wasn't above turning over some tables or getting into the face of people when the situation called for it.,
Amen...great post!!!!

Remember boys & girls - when Muslim Clerics call for the deaths of people (multiple times each day) ignore it. When a Christian says it, put it in the headlines and keep it there at least a week.

I think it is useful to note that one of the reasons given for taking out Saddam Hussein is that he tried to have a sitting President assassinated. For our nation to engage in such an act would make us hypocrites in the eyes of the world; and rightfully so.
Christian prohibitions not withstanding, advocating assassination of the leader of a foreign country does our country no good. I wouldn't draw any comparisons between Chavez and Hitler either.

"a man of the cloth to be calling for an assassination is way off base." Um -- I look at differently than him calling for an assasination - rather he is calling for our government to protect it's people.
not everybody is a pansy ass 'save everyone' just because they are a man of the cloth. There is evil in the world and occassionally the only way to deal with that evil is to eliminate it - especially when it is necessary to protect others - that doesn't make him less Godly.
But then what the hell do I know - that's just MHO.

No damage at all to the cause of Christ. If a murder is at your door, do you let them in? 25 cents would have solved a lot of problems and bloodshed.
To: Brilliant
Only a complete idiot would say that publicly even if he believed it privately. Absolutely. It shows a man who is tremendously out of touch with reality, and so cloistered with people who think like him he doesn't understand the import of his words on others.
It's reasonable to discuss something like this in private as one alternative to dealing with a problem. I don't support the idea because I think it would backfire, but I can see it being discussed. But to say it publicly is sheer stupidity. The only effect of his statement will be to make such an action even less likely. So if he really thought it was a good idea, he should have kept his yap shut.
Robertson is a fool.

"A US assisination of Chavez would be the absolute best thing to spread his brand of leftism across Latin America. "
Just like when Allende was killed. Oh wait, capitalism and prosperity broke out there.
