No. Had he been a Democrat, what he did would have explained away by the Party Of The Presidential Felon as a "hiccup" and its time to move on. Somehow, Republicans don't get a break and it doesn't matter if they're conservatives or not. The "R" is a scarlet letter that's all it takes to brand them guilty in the eyes of the Left.
