Agreed. Don't un-holster until somebody needs to die. The reason is: Once you squeeze the trigger, you don't really know for sure where that bullet will end up. You at least stand a good chance of killing somebody when you fire, so it had better be reasonable that that somebody should have died.
I teach my students to shoot center mass on the range. You TRAIN as you FIGHT! Because once the involuntary side takes over, you do as you train.
