Thanks to the Leftists in this nation, the only people who can speak their minds without fear of reprisal are the Terrorists and their Leftist propagandists.
And this cowardice is wrapped up in a neat little package called "political correctness."
Talk about an oxymoron...

In the Land of the Free, news media are not required to demonstrate "patriotism." If that's what you'd prefer, you might be more comfortable in China. Ah, it's bad form to enter someone's house and immediately insult the host. But something tells me you're not long on manners to begin with. Why am I not surprised?

In the Land of the Free, news media are not required to demonstrate "patriotism." Patriotism is indeed required by any news outlet before I will give them any attention. And I am not alone in this. More and more people are saying "why don't they cheer for our side?"
Ever wonder why the media is becoming a national joke with ratings that are in the toilet?
It's called the free market.
They can demonstrate patriotism or I will do my level best to put them out of business.
That is the wonderful part about the land of the free although I am sure you don't see it that way.
I am sure you prefer Zimbabwe

We have to face up to the fact that the enemy has the U.S. on the run, using our own media against us.I would say that the media is the enemy along with the Islamofacists, and not merely being used by them.
The press groups insist it's all about making sure the Department of Defense obeys the Freedom of Information Act in making the material available. But they have to know the material will be exploited by our enemy and cause more Americans to die. Do they even care?
Yes, they most certainly do care. In fact I would say that that is the very thing they are hoping for.

They don't have to demonstrate patriotism, but not actively aiding and abetting the "people" we are fighting would be the honorable thing to do, though I'm sure the concept of honor is lost on everyone in the MSM.

It doesn't surprise me that the MSM would do anything anti-American.
The Washington Composts uses the excuse they need to keep a bit of separation between the media and the military.
Thats a big bush of BS in my book.
I think some in the media is wearing out it's welcome in the USA.
If we can't trust the media to be patriotic then who can we trust, Kim Jong Ill, Chavez, Casto, Osama bin Laden.
These people in the media act as though their above normal human beings.
They run around with their smug, elitists attitudes and say they are fair in their reporting.
The only time the media is fair to America and it's people is when a bleeding heart give America away liberal is in office.
Mark me down as a liberal media mistruster.

news media are not required to demonstrate "patriotism." If that's what you'd prefer, you might be more comfortable in China. The First Amendment traditionally meant that newspapers were free from prior restraint. If you wish to start a newspaper, the government doesn't have constitutional authority to impede your doing so. It is little noted, however, that broadcast journalism - indeed all broadcasting - is subject to government regulation. If you doubt that, just try broadcasting without a license and see what the FCC and the police do!
The First Amendment speaks of a right to print and a right to speak, and only by implication of a right to read or listen. Broadcasting regulation, OTOH, speaks of the right to hear - and the duty to shut up. Whether or not you remain a registered FR poster, Jingo, you have IMHO a constitutional right to post on the Internet -tho you might need to create your own web site to do so. And whether anyone pays attention to your posting or not is not a question the First Amendment addresses; it's up to you to make your posting interesting and relevant.
Since there is no reason you cannot communicate via the Internet on equal terms with anyone else, the internet is a constitutionally superior venue to the broadcast band. There is no reason why CBS should have the right to broadcast nationwide if you or I do not; the licenses the government gives CBS are essentially illegitimate titles of nobility. And I see no reason why the renewal of those licenses should be granted to systematically anti patriotic broadcasters.

I will attempt to continue to discuss this matter as long as I'm permitted, but I don't hold much hope of that being a long time since open debate is not valued in this forum.

Yup...I agree.
I hope the American Businesses get the message too...don't waste good advertising monies in non-patriotic media!!

In the thread: "Who owns CNN?"
The Freepers are hard at work digging out facts on the Saudi ownership of the news sources in America.
It does not surprise me that they would sue to release more photos and to cause more trouble.

Never in the history of this country has the media been this anti-American,biased and cowardly.
Not even in the civil war was the media so uncivil to the population they want to read their inane articles.
I read an article last night where the movie industry was pulling it's ad money from newspapers because....young people no longer read the paper.
Could it be that young people don't read because the liberal schools taught them about condoms but didn't tell them about the ABC's.
