I see. And how do you propose determining a given teacher's sexual preference? Do you challenge them with questions like 'What's your favorite Broadway musical?' or 'What's your favorite Indigo Girls song?' Or do you simply ask them outright or have them circle 'Yes' on their application? That doesn't even work in the military, anymore, so what makes you think such a policy would ever work in the civilian world? The truth is such a policy is impracticable. It wouldn't work. Nor should it.

Look, I can only base what I know of that particular 2-5 percent of the population on members of that subgroup whom I know personally. By and large, I've found them to be as good, bad, or in-between in terms of character and decency as other folks. Some gay people are more strident and in-your-face about their sexuality than others, but I tend to think they do so largely in reaction to those who would like to see them ostracized from the greater community. As a Christian, I disagree with their choice, but as evidence accumulates, I'm beginning to see it less as a choice than as a natural predisposition. Either way, I'm in no position to throw stones from some moral high ground. Let me work the beam from my own eye while they take the sliver from theirs.

It was a general comment and as with all general comments, it's inaccurate. And, no, I don't live in "LA La Land". That is my experience. Since it doesn't jibe with your statement, you dismiss it by belittling my statement rather than perhaps rethinking your own position or simply accepting the fact that your comment, as a generalization, is not true.

I did.

From the survey:

...[this] is a survey of the beliefs of those who are seeking to overcome or minimize homosexual desires.

So, in other words, it's a survey of people who think homosexuality is wrong. Not exactly what I'd call an unbiased study.

"I'm beginning to see it less as a choice than as a natural predisposition."

"The solution to the decrepit conditions of our government schools and the socialists that are running them, IS VOUCHERS"

Amen to that. Vouchers should be available to all not just inner city youth. In many cases private schools could save the taxpayers half of what they have to pay per student for public education.

The topic is "gay sexual lifestyle."

What a gay does in the privacy of his/her home is the business of theirs, and is protected behavior.

The minute they bring that sexual lifestyle into the "public" realm, for whatever the reason, but, in this case, teaching young children, the public has a right to say NO.

I don't have the right to talk about my sexual behavior in a class room to young children! Why are we even asking such a question?

And as well, there is a GOOD CHANCE that our kids might actually GET EDUCATED, instead of just indoctrinated....

Who said anything about talking about your sexual behaviour in the class room? There are other ways students may find out their teacher is gay (like if they live in the same neighborhood).

Like others have said, as long as he or she wasn't pushing their gay agenda I would have no problem at all with their sexual preferences.

Just be a good teacher; keep your hands off of the kids and do what you're being paid to do and do it well. That's my criteria.......and it wouldn't matter at all about what grade level they would be teaching either.

Look at all the swinger clubs and groups/parties that exist all over the America. There are plenty of them. which means there are plenty of heterosexual couple out there engaging in activities that most people would not approve of. or the high number of men and women going out and cheating on their spouses with many members of the opposite sex. Go to any straight club on any given weekend and you will see sexual acts going on as well. With men and women leaving the club with a different person every weekend. It doesn't matter if they are gay or straight. It happens in both gay places and straight places.

Have you ever been to a gay club or a bathhouse? Have you ever hung out with a gay person or couple to really get to know them and see how they live. A great deal of gay guys and women live everyday normal lives of going to work and just live quietly in their own lives not bothering anyone.

Not religious, huh?

From: http://peoplecanchange.com/Q_&_A6.htm

The next most important thing to do is to get help -- from God and from other people…

…leaning on God for guidance, you are ready to work a program of major change.

…or whatever path you feel God is leading you on.

…things that will help you heal your inner sense of masculinity, your connection with heterosexual men, and your connection with God.

And some interesting items regarding his study:

From: http://www.narth.com/docs/evidencefound.html

The study has attracted particularly attention because its author, a prominent psychiatrist, is viewed as a historic champion of gay activism. Spitzer played a pivotal role in 1973 in removing homosexuality from the psychiatric manual of mental disorders.

• The study did not seek a random sample of reorientation therapy clients; the subjects chosen were volunteers.
• Marital status at time of interview: 76% men were married as were 47% of the female respondents. 21% of the males and 18% of the females were married before beginning therapy.
• 97% were of a Christian background, 3% were Jewish, with an overwhelming 93% of all participants stating that religion was either "extremely" or "very" important in their lives.
• 19% of the participants were mental health professionals or directors of ex-gay ministries.
Further, more of the men than women (53% to 33%) had never engaged in consensual heterosexual sex before the therapy effort.

And there is an abundance of them here in the bible belt. One of the places I play poker and watch live music is a regular everyday bar a couple days of the week, and swinger party bar a couple days a week.

as the evidence accumulates is is patently OBVIOUS it is not genetic. Homosexual behavior is a CHOICE.

The solution is very simple. ASK. The same way blood banks ask in order to preclude homosexuals from donating blood.

In the case of a teacher application, in the event of a lie the lie would become grounds for dismissal. An established policy precluding homosexuals having authority over children speaks volumes about approved sexual conduct.

Even Texas' law MANDATING the teaching of homosexual behavior as an unacceptable lifestyle choice from a scientific and health standpoint is STILL VALID despite the lawrence decision.

On the contrary, keeping deviants away from children can work and in must be pursued.

However, participation in a sex club activity WILL get you fired from a public school teaching job. Particularly in FL.

Trying to find the Miami Herald, Sun Sentinal, or Palm Beach post article to that case...

There is nothing 'gay' about homosexuality. homosexuals are disordered and justly discriminated against e.g. scouts, military, teaching etcetetra regardless their open glee or secret shame in practicing depraved homosexual activities that are always intrinsically evil...
