New horse does not mean it was more horse then she could handle, It might have been no doubt, but we don't know from the article.

Yes, I ride,'Dog. And I have this thing about accuracy in language. When one "falls" from a horse, one usually has the assistance of the horse. Which technically is not a "fall".

What would you call it then?

If you are learning you should not be jumping. Yes, people make mistakes but handling a situation on a horse should be automatic before you take on anything such a jumping. An inexperienced rider is a bad rider. If they were experienced they would probably be a good rider. You can argue whatever you wish the fact of the matter is he didn't do what he should have known to you and he broke his neck. He was ahead of his experience and ability and paid a huge price.

What you guessed is not too far off what the Peta person said. "It gave the animals pleasure" (I am not kidding on that quote)
Yeah. Like playing fetch with a lit stick of dynamite.

My favorite quote regarding "Madonna" was the observation
that "she's had more abortions than hit songs".

If you are learning you should not be jumping. Then there's learning to jump.
We understand. A more experienced rider might have stayed on. Roger. Wilco.

OMG! No way.
Back years ago when I had to witness my Lab breeding for the AKC documents it looked like anything but pleasure for either one of them.

I'd call it what is is: being thrown. Most adults don't just fall off something they're sitting on. :)
To: Americanchild
Well, when I hear someone say they were thrown off a horse, I automatically think the horse did something stupid. The times I've come off, were more then likely because I suck as a rider:). I don't want people to blame my horse for my inexperience, hence, I fall off:)
