Its shotgun pellets....most likely smaller than bbs.

You are assuming that he was using shot rounds and not rifled slugs...

Either way, it was a STUPID thing to do. It goes against all firearms safety training.

I also find it ironic that he was using a second amendment right to instill fear in people exercising their first amendment rights...
