Camp Casey is becoming very organized, with how-to signs placed about. Ann Wright said, "That's what we are trying to do."
Let me read you the schedule posted on a tree: "9:15 camp meeting; 10 a.m. inter-faith service, 10:30 a.m., "Food-Not-Bombs Breakfast at Peace House," and....
"Wait! Someone is firing a gun. (pause). He fired it into the air about five times. He appears to be a local inside the fence line on private property. Now he has thrown what looks like a shotgun into the front seat of a pickup, and he's stomping off out of sight. I wonder where he went.
"Now he's coming back out. I'm out here standing on the road. He's got a no parking sign in his hand, walking toward his fence. I'm going to go try to talk to him. I've got to hang up."
(three minutes later)
I went over and talked to the man. He is Larry Mattlage, who says he is on his property and just posted a no-parking sign.
"We're going to start doing our war and it's going to be underneath the law," he told me. "Whatever it takes. So y'all go find another place to do whatever you do. 'Cause this is our front yard and back yard."
I asked, "Do you mean the protestors?"
Wait.....now there's some Secret Service and cops. I'm going to get closer to hear what they're saying. People in bullet-proof vests are here now. Two Secret Service agents are now walking up his driveway towards his house, with Mr. Mattlage. A member of the Sheriff's Department has arrived. Mr. Mattlage is waving his arms now. All of them are now walking back this way.
Now they are between the lane and the house. He's at the fence now. Let me record what they are saying. I'll call right back.

His property ought to be seized and turned into a private peace park, and designated as a spot for demonstrations against Bush. A small admission fee can be charged, to raise money for Crawford, and to meet the Supreme Court's dictum that
cities have the right to take private property and then resell it for private use.
(sarc/off)
At least at this point, if you are in the country, it is not illegal to shoot a shotgun on your own property (As long as it was not felony menacing). Hey, he could have been shooting skeet.
If this is now illegal, we are in deeper trouble than I thought.
I remember walking thru the halls of my high school carrying a real full auto M-14 from the ROTC armory to the shooting range. Today, that would incite a SWAT visit. I am glad I grew up when I did.
I'm in the area, and not familiar with this particular incident, but the "locals" have run out of patience with these people. People move to Crawford for the rural, quiet life, and also for their excellent school district. School starts next week, and they will have to navigate unexpected traffic, the media, and Cindy's entourage. Not to mention, most people in this area support the President, and do NOT sympathize with Cindy's point of view.
Other than all those Lefties urinating on the trees and scrub along the fence lines, they are probably also trashing the greenway on the side of the road by parking their vehicles in the (soggy at midweek) ground. What of the envirommental damage?
Why can't this guy make these losers move? I doubt a bunch of hippies is doing wonders for property values. Doesn't private property mean anything anymore?
FYI
Wait.....now there's some Secret Service and cops.
Notice she didn't report the answer to that question.
I could only imagine if this happend where my old man lives.
Get off of my property right now..(Loading a Round)
GASP!
Surprised it took this long.
I read somewhere this week that many of the residents are getting together to take their grievances to the local governing body (on Monday or Tuesday, IIRC). They are concerned with all the vehicular traffic and folks parking helter-skelter along the road around Camp Cindy.
Nope. Welcome to the new PC world.
Also "private property" means even less after the SCOTUS ruling on eminent domain.
I wonder how Peace House would fare in a tornado.....
LOL, I think I'd be the same way. Imagine if Cindy went across the highway to Ted Nugent's place. Think he'd put up with this?
"a...group who are going to bring peace to the world..."
And eliminate Israel, don't forget.
lol
haha!!!
Maybe they were blanks. Wouldn't that be fun!
It might be funny to hire an exterminating company to come and have the press there to take pictures!
