What if he would have talked about the joys of child molestations or something else?

Read my post again. I clearly stated that stating a heresy WOULD be grounds for walking out - and a priest talking of the joys of child molestations would clearly count for that. However, as much as we don't like the pastor's political position, nothing I read in the original post struck me as heretical. It was certainly nonsense and I vehemently disagree with it, but it was not heresy.

Ok what if the priest started calling for higher taxes, legalization of pot or the repel of any number of the amendments to the Constitution of the United States? That's not heresy, so should the congregation have to sit there and take it?

I disagree with staying & listening to a homily that he/she knew was basically a lie. The church is NOT the place to spout political nonsense, but to hear God's Word preached & to take the Eucharist. How could one worship where lies were be told?
