Does this woman have any knowledge of scripture? I ask this because the "parish" I grew up in never encouraged the reading of the Bible. Only the excerpts read at mass.
It sounds like she has a limited Biblical view, for that she requires prayer. Especially when she is out there preaching a message, religious or otherwise.
This woman, (bless her heart, yes, she needs prayer), left The Church long ago, and only recently returned a few years ago. Previously, she attended many Baptist churches where she lived.
Assuming a) she had been around the bible in that regards, and b) she said that once weekly they get together and study scripture (yes, believe it or not...Catholics do do this!), she should be very familiar with scripture.
Don't get me wrong, this kind woman appeared to me very much a God loving woman...her priorities, however, need work...and as you said, prayer.
