But I think this is one of those things that comes down to what side of the fence you've sat on. I've been married to a sociopath--I've seen the same look that I've seen on Joran's face, so I'm harsher about it being a behavioral choice (that's my nice way of saying SIN--willful complete disobedience to the Word of God). Parent's who don't expose their kids to the Word of God hold 'some' of the responsibility of their behavior. But, we all have that inner compass as well. I think labeling him a sociopathic liar automatically gives him an excuse, and professionals loads of fun for him to play with. I certainly don't mean to take away from other's people's experience with truly mentally ill or incompetent individuals.
But as I see it in this case, labeling gives way to him blaming mom for not being there, dad for this, Natalee for being there at the wrong time, instead of a selfish jacka$$ who took and quite possibly destroyed what wasn't given to him.

No professional has fun with psychopaths. And the law doesn't recognize it as an excuse. Prisons are full of them.
