Nailed It!
This ping list is not author-specific for articles I'd like to share. Some for the perfect moral clarity, some for provocative thoughts; or simply interesting articles I'd hate to miss myself. (I don't have to agree with the author all 100% to feel the need to share an article.) I will try not to abuse the ping list and not to annoy you too much, but on some days there is more of the good stuff that is worthy of attention. You can see the list of articles I pinged to lately on my page.
You are welcome in or out, just freepmail me (and note which PING list you are talking about).
Besides this one, I keep 2 separate PING lists for my favorite authors Victor Davis Hanson and Orson Scott Card. (I stopped keeping separate ping lists for David Warren and Lee Harris. I'll ping to their articles when warranted through this list. )

This is how Washington, DC works when you're an analyst. When Darnine Drunyan was swinging her infamous Refueling Plane deal with the Air Force, she got bad news from her cost accountants and relieved them from the project. She said they did great work, but were no longer necessary for that program.

Thanks for that post. He is one of the few who actually get it. President Bush has to stop telling the people that the terrorists hate us because of our freedoms. They hate us right now because we stand directly in their path to a greater Islamic empire. Iraq is the key to the region. If Iraq falls to them, so too will Syria and Iran. And with all that oil and nuclear technology, well....
If Iraq can be stabilized, then Syria and Iran will be isolated and can be dealt with. Remember, more than half of the population of Pakistan sides with the terrorists.

Ironic that left-wing athiests would be the first to die under Sharia law and yet are the jihadists closest friends.

Only one problem with the article. He wants us to believe that the majority of Muslims want freedom yet the majority of Iraqi Muslims voted for Islamics in their new government. Not moderate Islamics either. Islamics that want to institute Sharia law.
There are "moderate Muslims" but they are far from the majority. It is wishful thinking on his part that they are.

The American Conservative should be renamed the American Isolationist.
They want us to lose in Iraq and withdraw. This would destabilize friendly regimes allowing for the creation of a Sunni Caliphate of Afghanistan, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman, Kuwait, Syria, Indonesia, Malaysia the Turkic republics and North Africa. Iran would go full speed with their nuclear program and try to take over Bahrain and Qatar. Flashpoints between the rival nuclear Muslim Caliphates would be Iraq and Lebanon. Oil prices would be over $100/barrel. This soulds like a disaster to me.
How long before Tel Aviv and New York are nuked?
We are in a clash of civilizations. We need to kill terrorists, keep the Muslim states divided, help save Europe, create an emmigration of Muslims from the west, and reduce our dependence on oil.

"Empowered liberal-democratic Muslims with guns will defeat the Islamists in the end. We can't do it without them, and they can't do it if they're languishing in mass graves and dungeons." This seems to be an empirically true statement. I just wish he weren't calling them "liberal-democratic Muslims." That's like a three for three creep-out.
