I didn't reread it yet, but I think it's kind of disgusting. My memory is that the author basically says, "My eyes were opened to how bad it is for the average Cuban, but it sure is fun for the tourists! As long as I don't have to see the bad side, I'm going back!"

I know you have posted a lot of information about Cuba in the past, and I'm wondering if you remember the story about a couple who vacationed down there a few years ago. As I recall, they were somewhat liberal and have said they will continue to vacation, but they had their eyes opened to the way the Cuban people live under the Castro regime. I believe the man had an accident on a bike of some sort, and was taken to a free clinic. He found the conditions to be appalling, and I remember something about bandages being taken from a garbage can, or something like that.
