These "free trade" agreements have been constructed by huge Washington law firms, supposedly to protect American companies that do business in foreign countries. They contain 20,000 pages of legalese that is basically a cash cow for the corporate lawyers that designed them. All of these agreements are designed for the benefit of corporate lawyers, calling them "free trade agreements" is only a slick marketing tool.
