small government is not always wise or the best option..
Hark!
Is that the blessed Ron Reagan I hear spinning in his grave?
How far off the conservative path will the Republican party wander before we are gifted with another leade.
_____Reagan expanded the milutary with massive spending increase--which was right---and he didn;t significantly succeed in cutting government expenditures
Yhe public rejects the idea of a sshrinken government. That;s why
Clinton survived the Gingrich era.
Pushing knee-jerk libertarinaism is a sure political loser.

The public also rejects the idea of open borders, plus its kind of hard to have homeland security and open borders. But the RINO's ram open borders down our throats. Tancredo won his district with 60% of the votes, with the RINO's working for his defeat!
I remember my dad telling an important thing in politics was to "dance with the person what brung you to the dance," the Republicans do not follow that idea. Bush can flush 15 billion dollars down the toilet for AIDS in Africa, which no one I know cared about. General consensus in the "lunatic fringe" is that if people half a world away cannot keep their pants zipped up, it is not the obligation of the US taxpayer to bear the cost of their deeds.
Now on the highway bill, Bush does dig in his heels, and it only passed as part of the deal to get CAFTA passed. If were going to spend like drunken sailors, lets at least spend it on things that are of some use. American infrastructure is more useful than AIDS in Africa. Let Bono pay for that.
Spending money on highways is in line with the Constitution, spending money on AIDS in Africa is not.

You must have missed that.
