Well.... After considerable thought, I think they may very well be real. They used Charlie Brown and Snoopy for module names on one of the pre-landing Appollo missions (8,9?). AND - Marvin the *MARTIAN* and "Duck Dodgers" did appear together a few times, so it fits...
