Two years ago during a Air Force ROTC graduation ceremony a B-1 did a low flyby over the Univ. of Colorado campus in Boulder and the liberals in town were hysterical.I woulda paid money to see that. ;)

So do you think PR for dollars is more important then the safe return of the shuttle, the crew, and the completion of the mission?
Why not ask them to land in a parade too.
To: paulat
I think they chose this early hour because the weather is usually clear and calm over this part of Florida in the early morning. Clouds start puffing up about 10am-noon every day with thunderstorms developing shortly after. At least that's the basic trend for the past couple of months. These low clouds seem unusual, but that's the weather for you.

Early riser, and I got here around 4am eastern I thought I missed it all! Looks like you're the only one, lol. I don't know how the all-night crowd does it. How many Mr. Coffee machines are being sucked dry and frantically refilled as I type? :-)

Some day I'll be as strong as I was five years ago. Until then I'll just have to make up for it by being twice as scrappy. ;o)
Great 'tude. You are definitely (or defiantly) succeeding. I will also keep you in my prayers.

Seems to be a lot of these sorts of illnesses within the aerospace industry. Just what the heck are they feeding you folks in the cafeteria? Hmmm...coffee...tobacco...mercury...deuterium...cadmium...everything a body needs.
All kidding aside, I smoked like a chimney for 25 years and lived damned hard in my youth. Everywhere I went, I left a contrail of tobacco smoke. I earned this cancer fair and square.

I guess they have computers to do the conversions from nautical to statute. But it's pretty lubberly, IMO, and unseamanlike.

Brewed my coffee about midnight. Have been getting Monday's work done, so I am already ahead of the game this week.

Thanks...I was worried that they were doing this in the dark because they DIDN'T want kids to see a mishap.

Shuttle now passing over Gulf of Mexico.
This should be the last time around the earth for this mission.
