By the way, another thing I've been keeping a good stock of is toilet paper. Customary household use supplies will not go far if you are enscounced in your house and do not want to leave for whatever reason. You can scrimp on food with negligible results, but TP scrimping could be unsanitary and breed disease. Sorry, it had to be TP'd ("covered.")

For every roll of toilet paper be sure to have 20 plastic garbage bags with twisties.

We keep at least a years supply of tp, anti-bacterial liquid soap, paper towels, bleach, shampoo, bath soap and toothpaste. Unlike food, they won't go bad and it's one less thing to worry about in the event of an "event".
