Lately I get more & more of a feeling that as Bush finds himself in the catbird seat with no scandals sticking to him, he is starting to work on his legacy. He gave a nod in the direction of the Intelligent Design/abiogenesis controversy, he's minding his p's & q's on the economy, and his supreme court nominee has a better than even chance of surviving. I can't help but think that he has become a closet FREEPER looking to advance social conservatism where he can.
The big blue elephant in the living room is probably immigration policy, so I wouldn't be surprised to find some serious progress in that arena over the next 2 years. In addition, he might just send a few ripples into education policy and help out some voucher programs.
