Well if your inclined a book of FICTION as proof off something then you are an idiot. Part of it is based on fact ,just like Mobey Dick..Most of it isn't .Pleas man , stop it .You'd have to be pretty dumb to believe the story.DID YOU READ IT ?It's great fun and most mature Catholics enjoy it . None I know have had their faith shaken.
They are so clueless. They apparently think that people who saw The Passion just happen to be interested in Religion, so they will make a movie about religion. Idiots.
I agree. And I'm glad to hear non-Christians not going to it! I have a feeling even Christians will gleefully line up for it and enjoy the Catholic/Christian bashfest. The book is sold as fiction and yet the author and his posse 'sell' it in interviews as Church 'secrets' revealed. And eager Christians line up, for the book at least, to hear their religion torn apart. And Catholics I know believe it as 'truth'. Aaaaaarrggghhh, as I run screaming from the room. - Not really, but that's how I feel when Catholics I know buy into it and try to get me to 'believe'. It kind of reminds me of how L.Ron Hubbard turned Dianetics into a 'religion'.
Exactly , maybe some dumb kid would believe the hype. The author himself says there isn't solid proof and much is just projection and suggestion. Remember folks, the guy is trying to sell his novel GEEEEEEEEEEEEEEZZZ

If you knew anything at all about the book you'd know Brown claims the book is based entirely on facts he "discovered" while researching the book. It's a novel, sure, but he claims everything talked about re:DaVinci and Jesus's "child" are factual.
You're obviously the target audience for this junk--gullible, easily-duped, and completely uninformed. Now go stand in line, you've got less than a year to opening day. Until then, don't shoot your mouth off about things you obviously know zero about.
With respect, I must disagree. Yes I read the book. It is obvious from the dust jacket to the end of the book that the author is presenting a fictional story, but is basing the story on a framework of "carefully researched facts" about historical figures and events. This is done in much the same way that Michael Crichton does his novels, except that Crichton makes it easy to tell the difference between fact and fiction.
You've intrigued me, laid down the gauntlet. I have suspected that my Catholic friends who've read and looooved it were already on shaky grounds, faithwise. Our own parish has undergone many changes at the whims of some, including dissenters. I may have to - gulp - read it. It will give me some fun to argue with, at least, and laugh at.
Exactly--THAT is why this type of junk infuriates me. People read it and say "It's a novel but all the church stuff is true," when even the New York Times has completely demolished the assertions Brown makes. He not only gets his religion wrong, he gets his art and his history wrong--a trifecta!
Well read it then ..then talk ..Its a make believe book , it's a murder mystery with very unbelievable characters in very unbelievable situations...But.It's well done and I guess it fooled your friends too ..So well done that even some stupid adults bought into it ..Please man ..its FICTION SOLD AS FICTION classified as FICTION..It's based on fact the same way Sgt Rock comic books have SOME facts in them ,like WWII, the same way Mobey Dick has some real places and events ..BUT ITS STILL FICTION.If you have friends who had their faith rattled over a FICTION novel then I question their fait and brains for that matter..Looking forward to the movie myself..I'm sure it will be great fun like the book..Get it FUN ..not an assult on Christianity ..FUN Make believe FUN
