Since WHEN is it a CRIME to devote one's entire life to ministry, theology, study of God, to study to be a minister/rabbi! This is the HIGHEST of callings. Catholic Priests, Pastors, Rabbis' this is what Men of God do when they are called by THE ALMIGHTY, they put all aside to study His Word's and minister to others so as to bring others closer to Him. And this to you is a crime comparable to what the terrorists in the training camps are doing??!!!
This is also a distraction/excuse for antisemite/nazis to attack the religious. Shame on you all.

No, studying in kollel is not a crime comparable to what the terrorists in the training camps are doing. Studying in kollel is not a crime. Studying in kollel is good.
But somewhere in the last 50 years a sense has emerged in the kollel community that there is no obligation to work at a job in addition to studying. The talmudic admonitions not to teach Torah during work hours have become irrelevant for large subsets of the religious Jewish population in Israel, as those subsets of people simply refuse to work for a living.
A true story: I know a successful and internationally-prominent medical doctor who lectures at conferences worldwide when he is not saving lives in Jerusalem. His daughter, who is in her late teens, complained to him that because he has a job and is not studying in kollel, she will have a hard time finding an appropriate husband. This is just wrong.
