Abdullah has been running things for a while. He's the least Western friendly prince. Not the best thing for us but him taking over does seem like the most stable change they can get under the current system.
Saudi US ambassador Prince Bandar would be the best for us and it was theorized that the rest of the princes would pass over Abdullah and pick Bandar. This story isn't over yet.
Probably will raise oil prices as it seems like the market is looking for any excuse to raise them. I hope it's just a temporary spike.

Abdullah did appoint Prince Sultan, who's considered to be the most pro-American of the princes, as crown prince.
