well, just imagine there is such a thing as a Muslim who wouldn't steal an airplane and fly it into a skyscraper full of people, or support people who do. Such a person, if he were a thoughtful person, might also be put off by the association -- legitimate or otherwise -- of Isalm w/terrorism, because he may not see it that way.
Is there any -- and I ask this sincerely -- possible analogy with people who kill abortion practitioners claiming they are serving God by doing so?

Is there any -- and I ask this sincerely -- possible analogy with people who kill abortion practitioners claiming they are serving God by doing so?It would seem so, at first glance. The difference is this: those who kill in the name of Jesus do so in spite of His teaching; those who kill in the name of muhammed do so because of his teaching.
Think that's just intolerant blather? Sit down and study the history of both religions, especially noting the eras closest to the founders. You'll see a big difference, trust me.
Furthermore, the guys who bomb abortion clinics don't hide among christians and in their churches. They don't openly preach some kind of holy war from our pulpits.

I used to think like you before I discovered that Islam is the root of the problem. Ask any Muslim to show you that Islam is a religion of peace from Allah's own words, the Koran. Every single reference to peace in the Koran comes with "disclaimers" that always lead to killing infidels and to make peace only with believers.
I know several "moderate muslims" and none of them are religious. One even told me about how his religious cousins were celebrating 9/11 but he is the "Liberal" among them.
The problem with the abortion bomber analogy is that the bible does not specifically tell you to kill people. Also, the percentage of Christians that support the bombers is much lower than Muslim extremists. The problem is that "moderate muslims" are the exception.
