Not saying I subscribe to that or not, but if BXVI's successor takes the name Peter, I'll re-evaluate thoroughly.
Don't bother. The part about Peter the Roman was added long after St. Malachy's prophecy was written. I am a believer in prophecy, make no mistake, but I tend to think Malachy's prophecy to be a pious fraud.
The last Pope will be Jesus Christ when He returns.
Peter the Roman may indicate that - a full circle from the beginnings of the Church. That is, if we believe the prophecy to be true.
