see post 130 and 137 for background.
Third tank 327 miles on 19 gallons.
17.2 mpg.
still 1-2 mpg increase. Worth the cost of the acetone
but a little dissapointing.
This time I put in 4 oz. per 19 gallons.
I've read that some people are getting best
results with 2oz. per 10 gal.
Also - a passive observation I may have seen is that the little engines that are already very fuel efficient seem to get there better improvement at lower acetone mixtures....like 2 oz. per 10 gal, while the bigger engines like a heavier dose. I don't know if this is exactly true, but I thought I'd pass this on to you for whatever its worth.
Thanks for posting your results here.
See posts 130 137 142.
4 oz per 19 gallons only got me 16.9 mpg.
Next time I'll go with 8 per 20 to see if it does better.
But since the price of gas has gotten so high I've gotten the wifes 94 Firebird out of moth balls(the barn). It's been sitting for 2 years and has a few mouse tooth induced electrical snafu's to fix.
3.4L V-6. 155,000 miles. 5-speed.
used to get 24-25 mpg. We'll see what she does with the recommended 6 0z per ten gallons.
Stay tuned.
