The America of Pearl Harbor, and the America of now are so vastly different as to be frightening.
Can something like this happen? Of that I have no doubt.
Would America, to save millions bow? Of this I am very frightened.
Most now believe that living on your knees is better than dying on your feet.
I am not one of those who believe that.
The 'sleeping giant' isn't sleeping anymore, it's been drugged into a stupor by the apologists, by those who protest every military action this country has engaged in since Korea and Vietnam, by those too chicken sh*t to know that freedom isn't free.
I give this Country at most 10 to 20 years before it bends its knee to any little bully.
And *that* makes me weep.
But most flunked history didn't they?
Most now believe that living on your knees is better than dying on your feet.
I disagree. While the fervor for knocking the crap out of who is responsible may ebb faster now than in the 1940s, it is very much still there. Most people have an issue with starting conflicts (which, technically, sort of, we did in Iraq, kinda), but retaliating against an attack on our soil? I'd hate to be the commie pundit who proposes that on "Meet the Press"! He'd be strung up before he got out of the parking lot...
If our government surrendered to the Islamists, I would take up arms to destroy the Islamists... we may need to wrest control of weapons and take the fight to the enemy ourselves... say the russians seem to sell to anyone with enough $$.. JimRob, care to go bid on a bear-foxtrot bomber with a load of nukes....
