If one were to listen to German, Japanese and/or Soviet newscasts during those respective conflicts, one would quickly learn (gasp!) that they felt justified in their actions. And, surprise surprise, were extremely critical of Allied opposition to their plans.
You know, like it was silly to confront the Nazis in Normandy; after all the fight was all about lebensraum in the East. Likewise the Japanese - why fight them in the Pacific, when it was all about oil/rubber/steel resources for Imperial Japan's economy?
The appearance of reasoned criticism is much more effective than the plaintive screeching one typically hears from the left.
