Stage 20 - Saturday, July 23: Saint-Etienne - Saint-Etienne ITT, 55 km
The showdown! All things being equal (and even with a few inequalitites) the individual time trial should provide a great spectacle at the end of a gruelling three weeks - Armstrong thrives in this race against the clock, and his dominance is well documented. But if we have a situation like 2003, this could be the clincher for the leader going into the stage, or it could provide the challenger with a whisker of hope. Here's hoping the weather stays fine and we get Ullrich out firing and witness Basso's improvement in time trialling, which has also been well-documented. The distance suits Armstrong, but the undulating terrain suits Ullrich's ability to push the big gears and power along. A surprise may be in the works, but chances are it'll come down to these two, regardless of where they are on GC - but it's also likely they'll both be at the pointy end of the field.
Thank you, Nutmeg. Great job!!!!!!!
Are we staring at a duel for 5th between Levi and Vino down the Champs D' Elsyees?
He is "moderatly left" when it comes to politics
But he likes Bush alot as a Man and considers him a friend
Ooops, I forgot to include Rassmussen and Evans in the equation.
Bold prediction; either Levi or Vino will win tomorrow.
Ras is dead in the water, Evans is just too far back.
So Levi has a 2 sec lead over Vino for #5 - think Vino will try to take it back tomorrow? Hyper aggressive Vino?
3 from the USA in the top 10. Sweet!
My bold prediction, either Evans, Vino, Rasmussen or Levi will take the pewter tomorrow.
I'd put my money on Levi if it's between those two
Vino may take out half the field match racing with 3 other TDF heavyweights for the final contested spot, should be fun!!
Pictures?
What's in-between bronze and pewter?
Iron?
Are those GC times posted above correct?? It looks like there is about :30 seperating 3-4 guys (Evans, Ras, Vino and Levi)
Your utterly gageous pic of Sheryl Crowsfeet and JF'nKerry (post 184) looks like a publicity still for the upcoming Michael Moore epic fartumentary "When Spinster Met Spineless"! LOL!
Me too, he certainly seems to be comfortable around them. I couldn't stand next to JFK even if it was the PC/expected thing. But at least he's smart enough to not discuss his political philosophy. I wish more celebrities would behave like that.
