Then out after nine years, rapes, stabs, and leaves his own daughter for dead in the Idaho mountains. The press has been tiptoeing around the rape of the daughter, and in fact this story doesn't mention that. Was this reported elsewhere?

I was wondering the same thing, but the only time the press does anything honorably is not identifying children of sexual crimes. Tey specifically say they aren't releasing her name, so I think the assumption is there is a sexual crime.
What an awful awful thing. That poor little girl.

the immediate report was that she was raped.....I noticed that the following day, some stations were reporting that the girl was a "relative" of the man....
I guess they did that to protect her identity......
btw.....its estimated she will be in the hospital for a month, so he must have done major trauma to her......poor little thing....
