Airbags have made it unsafe to place infant car seats in the front, and consequently they are placed in the backseat, where they can be easily forgotten.

Another airbag death added to the ones that happen when a mother or father turns around to pacify a screaming child. It used to be so easy when all you had to do was reach right next to you and plug the pacifier back in the baby's mouth.

Ain't it the truth! I hate airbags. When I have a baby now, I won't go anywhere unless I have an older child along to sit next to the baby and wipe his mouth, give him his pacifier, or whatever. It stinks.

But you have to balance these deaths against the deaths of kids in the front seat that no longer happen because they're in the back seat. Life is always a balancing of different problems.
