Infant Girl Left In Hot Car Dies
A baby was found dead inside a car Thursday after her father went to pick her up at her daycare and workers there told him she had never arrived, authorities said.
Gabriel Saavedra rushed out to his car at Storybook Nursery School and found his tiny daughter, Kayli, still strapped in her infant seat from that morning, police said.
Emergency workers said the girl, who would have been 5 months old on Saturday, was declared dead on the scene.
Um, well, apparently not this kind.
laughing in spite of myself. You are baaaaddd.
I've learned that it's when they get quiet that you have to start worrying.
This poor father, and other fathers and mothers who may have poor memory, or may be undergoing extreme mental and emotional stress of family or job are prone to make terrible mistakes.
All of the rest of us can say simply: "There, but for the grace of God, go I."
Many young fathers, today, are parenting their children in extraordinary ways. They are to be commended, not censured. If, however, it can be proven that a crime occurred, then this father should be punished.
Is it a hard time believing or a hard time imagining?
There are several stories of people who "forgot" children, had lapses. This happens, I mean it did, but do you think he killed this child on purporse?
Bravo! I agree.
so, your telling me you can't see in the back of your car at all....Just the top of the seat and thats it??????Then you must be really tall.Beacause I can see in the back of my seat when I'm looking out the rear view mirror...especially,my godsons carseat.... maybe, the man wanted to get rid the baby and that was a good way to do it.no fuss no muss and no jail time.....
You believe that? No fuss, no muss, no jail?
Did you read the article that was posted, the link, upthread? He was inconsolable, he broke thru the window with his fists to get to the baby, he was described by coworkers as adoring that child, talking about her.
how many parents who killed their own children had that same attitude???remember susan smith..she was devastated...she was also play-acting...I mean, think about it...no one called the day care to see how the baby was??no one from day care called asking where the baby was??most new mothers won't even go out for dinner and leave the baby..Yet,these parents left the girl all day at day care and nobody called???all day?????
It is a long way from not calling the day care all day to murdering a child.
New mothers by age 5 months in a good percent of the populations have their children in day care. You may think that is proof of a capacity to murder children but that is stretching it.
Yes that's correct. When my rearview mirror is properly aligned, I can only see the rear window, not the rear seats.
Then you must be really tall
I'm six feet tall, I don't know if that is really tall for you, but it seems normal for me.
maybe, the man wanted to get rid the baby and that was a good way to do it.no fuss no muss and no jail time.....
That's possible, but I think it is more likely that he was abducted by space aliens, had his memory erased at the conclusion of the abduction, and the poor infant was the innocent victim of the abduction.
Wonder if old dad has an insurance policy on her?
parents of five month old children in day care don't call all day and you don't find that strange????even on lunch hour or a quick 10 minute break and they had better things to do than check up on their child?????yes,i find it strange because I'm a single woman surrounded by parents and all they do is call to check up on their kids all day long...On lunch hour they are out the door to go see the kid....and I would bet most of your friends and family members, who are parents are the same way....
OH SO ***I'M SUPPOSED TO READ ALL OF YOUR POSTS BEFORE I RESPONED TO YOUR ORIGINAL POST?***
Jump in it DUDE!!!
You may be called a cynic but I wonder if good old dad had a policy on her too.....I've been surrounded by parents in my workplace for years and all they do is call to check up on their kids...And these 2 parents never called the day care?????I mean to leave a 5 month old and never check up on her????Something smells rotten in this story...
No, the people I know whose children are in day care are not calling all day long. Most won't leave their kids in a place they feel like they have to check on all day. The first couple of weeks there is anxiety and they call. But once they feel like the kids are adjusted, they don't call all day.
Anyone who is checking all day and is that preoccupied, ought not have their child in day care or with a sitter.
If having a consistently perfect memory is a defining characteristic of a "Real responsible parent" then I stand convicted as an "irresponsible parent".
There have been many times I have looked over my shoulder to double check that the kids are all in the back seat. How irresponsible of me to have forgotten whether they were there or not.
Last time I read one of these stories it was the mother, a doctor no less. Did the same thing
I understand.
