The style is non-existent in the glasses issued in the Marine Corps. These things were straight out of the 60s and so damn ugly that wearing them off base was guaranteed to repel any woman that is breathing. Therefore, some genius named them birth control glasses. You're guaranteed never to get someone pregnant while wearing them.
