The overall tone is IMO exactly the right way to play it.
"Just another bomb, you don't scare us or move us even the slightest bit"
... which is about how most people I know feel.
I think it's just right, too. No point in letting the bad guys know what they have. Keep them nervous, and maybe they'll make more mistakes. I hope they get lots of info from those unexploded knapsacks.
