HEAR, HEAR.
I thought both Prime Minister Blair and Prime Minister Howard were splendid at their joint news conference this morning. However, I must disagree with Tony Blair on this one point. Radical Islamofreak terrorism began much earlier. It's been escalating for the last 35 years, and their favorite targets have long been the various forms of mass transit, as well as schools and hotels.
It's also a pure lie that these freaks only target westerners. Not hardly. They've been just as happy to blow up other Arabs and Islamists. Over the past 35 years, there have been Islamofreak bombings in South America, in western Pacific nations, in India and Pakistan, in several nations Middle East nations, in Russia and other former Soviet states, in continental Europe, in the United Kingdom, and in the United States.
We've been in an unconventional world war with these freaks for well over a quarter century, only we didn't really come to grips with it until 9/11/01. Many still have not come to grips with it -- and many in the western Left have actually made a degree of common cause with the Islamofreaks.
We all need to wrap our minds around the fact that this cancer has been metastasizing almost entirely unopposed (other than by Israel) for a very long time. It is now almost too late to try to cut it out, but we must hit it with everything we've got.
