They think this report might have something to do with Unocal going with Chevron, so they're pretty ticked off right now.

Shouldn't they be busy planning to nuke us or something?

"The report has baselessly attacked China's modernization of its national defense," Deputy Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi said in a statement, accusing Washington of looking for "an excuse to sell advanced weapons to Taiwan." Bill Gertz told the KSFO audience that U.S. corporations are expected to lobby Washington on the Chi-coms' behalf if they want to continue doing business in China.
I am not going to make it a project but I am going to try to remember who in Washington takes the Commie line on this matter. Chi-com lobbyists at work. As usual.
Many will do it regardless, such as the lovely Ms Feinstein and her husband Richard Blum close friends of the Chi-coms' former President Jiang Zemin -- which raises a question. The Blum URS Corp. does hundreds of millions of business with our DoD -- sometimes partnering with the evil-doing Halliburton Corp -- and they are close to Chi-coms?! Mr. Blum has Chi-com business associates?!
Coast-to-coast-AM host, Gerorge Norry has made it a mission in life to expose the evil-doing Halliburton Corp -- but nary a Noory word about the Democrats' URS Corp. Just like to mention that every chance I get. My mission.

""Not only is China not a threat to anyone, but we would also like to make friends with people in every country, work together and develop mutually beneficial cooperation in order to facilitate everyone's progress," Li said. " ...like we have demonstrated so well in Tibet, he went on to say.

I Guess the truth hurts. Especially when it comes to finally waking up the American people to the threat that the U.S. faces in any future confrontation with China.
I think we have the technological capability to defeat China but we would definitely need a military draft to provide the Infantry. The Services would be undermanned with all of the other responsibilities they have to cover.
