Maybe, but she's wrong on this one and hasn't done her homework.

F. Lee Levin has given his stamp of approval and that is better than Coulter's non-endorsement here. Sorry Ann, I believe you be proven wrong.

Maybe, but she's wrong on this one and hasn't done her homework. Then you must be privy to information that the rest of us don't have.
Please enlighten us. (with specifics).

Okay....did he or didn't he argue pro-bono against welfare time limits?
To: traderrob6
but she's wrong on this one and hasn't done her homework. I agree with you. Justice Scalia thinks Judge Roberts is one of the best attorneys ever to appear before the Supreme Court. That's good enough for me.

Only time will tell if she's wrong (or everyone else, for that matter).
I am cautiously optimistic, and will render a final opinion at the end of the next courts term, if he's ultimately confirmed.

She obviously hasn't spoken with Mark Levin yet.

Please show us the homework she missed because I feel the same as Ann Coulter. I mean, you are not going to get an easier fight than if you nominated Luttig or Jones, who are known quantities. At least then you would know (as certain as is possible, you will never know for sure) that the blood, sweat, and tears will be worth it.
I agree with Ann here. He may turn out to be just what we wanted, but why do we have to wonder?

Maybe, but she's wrong on this one and hasn't done her homework. You are right about her being wrong, and wrong about her NOT doing her homework.
The talking heads did mention that some Republicans wouldn't like Roberts because he wasn't conservative ENOUGH. She is one of those folks.
Thus, she falls into the negative.
She DID do her homework. She found, to her dismany, that there simply isn't much negative to say about Roberts.
Harhar. Ann always does her homework.

If you have a list of his writings and decisions that show a Constitutionalist or at least a conservative tendency and that he doesn't disclaim, please submit them.

I'm surprised she posted this in the morning. Her articles usually show up by the end of the day. My guess is Ann want to get her two cents in so every one knows what she thinks of this nomination. Clearly, she's less than overjoyed with it. What the President ought to have done was nominate an ideological conservative just as liberals have nominated ideological liberals. Given where the country stands, the Administration missed the opportunity to corner the Democrats in the one area where they're weakest: substance and then gone in straight for the kill. Do Republicans have to content themselves with nice stealth guys? It must be karma or its a slow Wednesday.

Yes - details.
Ann is fundamentally correct. Bush can pick anyone he wants. Anyone. Why pick someone that could slide through a Dem senate when that isn't needed? Why have uncertainty? Why not find a great 39 year old litigator doing pro-bono work for right wing causes all over the place (like the left did when they appointed Ginsburg - though she was not 39, more like 89).
