This could work out well! Bush can appoint a female (Brown, Owen, or Jones) the next time. If the Rats filibuster this time, they'll lose because the nuke option will be invoked. That will remove it from their arsenal next time. If they don't filibuster this time, and try to "save" it for next time, they'll have a hard time justifying a filibuster against a woman when they didn't filibuster Roberts. Especially if the woman is replacing Rehnquist, a conservative male.
This kills or weakens the idea that "like" judges should be appointed. A women for a woman, etc. It will become more important when a liberal is ready to step down.
