Mona Marouf, left, Sohad Sarhan and Manal Elsay cover the windows at Meadowbrook Pool with paper before a special swim session. Muslim women must be fully clothed when seen in public, so swimming is a rare treat for many.

I haven't had a chance to follow this thread, so I have no idea what the discussion/consensus has been... and, frankly, I have no idea how to really respond.
DD: The picture you posted is fantastic -- funny and yet depressing at the same time. My quandary: can one be free to choose bondage? In this instance, how much of this is based on modesty, how much on fear?
Can a woman freely demand to be accepted on a purely non-physical level (the "sistah souljah" "empowerment" of the burqa)? Certainly, in a "free country". Should women who are uncomfortable less-than-fully-clothed be able to make arrangements to swim together sans prying eyes? Why not. Is this exactly how these women choose to live? I hope so. Is it all just plain annoying? Absolutely.
Frankly a lot of this "diversity" crap is, well, crap. People who live in radically different ways are probably more comfortable among their own. The Amish have it figured out.

That picture is just sick. (post 366) How anyone cannot see the obscenity of it boggles my mind.
