An absolute conservative is really all that makes sense. Why we the POTUS go to such great effort to get strong conservatives on the Circuit Cts. only to have them shot down by the SCOTUS? It wouldn't make sense.

that's been my take all the time - if he'd chosen Clement it would mean he was satisfied she'd foot the bill. Every choice he's made to date at the lower levels has been ingenious. Frankly the talk about Luttig's family & kids dressed all nice seems to be pretty convincing though it could be Jones on the female front ;)
