Common misconception. The RCC did not "start Christianity". Furthermore, not all Christian churches are derived from the RCC. For example, my church began independantly and before the RCC.

Your evidence for this is...?

In the early Church, if you did not agree with the authoritative teachings of the Apostles, you were a heretic and not a Christian. Unless of course you're willing to submit that gnostics and arians were really Christians...
